Elidir Fawr lies in the far north west of Snowdonia, rising high above Nant Peris and Llyn Padarn. Its southern slopes have been completely reshaped by Dinorwig slate quarries while lying deep within it is an underground hydro-power station! Though you wouldn't know any of that from the position in this painting, on the col it shares with Foel Goch.
